Live TV. What a hoot! Leila from KTLA produced a great and very amusing segment this morning for the KTLA News. Everyone had a blast and was exceptionally friendly.
The morning became less than amusing when the extreme loading of traffic on Shortomatic.com servers, that we had to hit restart!…The exact numbers should be apparent tomorrow, but I expect a big crowd was wanting in!
Check our PRESS section for the full tape OR our You Tube Page.

The Plastiki crew were met by a welcome flotilla of boats and helicopters as they sailed through Sydney harbour on their way to Sydney’s Australian National Maritime Museum where the arrival ceremony was held in front of a bustling audience of friends, families, press and supporters.

“Thank you….thank-you….thank-you….the shorts arrived one day before my son’s birthday….a miracle!!!!! They were more than fabulous and people at the party were astounded at the quality and uniqueness of my gift. My son Eli is a stunt man…Stunts Canada…and it is always difficult to know what to buy for someone so athletic and who has pretty much all the toys already! Therefore the image of him surfing a big wave in Costa Rica was a huge hit!!!!!!! They were presented to him at a Charity Function for Cystic Fibrosis which honors the passing of a close friend of theirs Eva on July 13. Thanks for an incredible product (he phoned me days later to say that he was amazed at the quality of the shorts too) and beautiful presentation!”

After over 100 days at sea, The Plastiki draws ever closer to it’s Australian destination of Sydney. The weather has produced 60 knots of wind and 25ft waves, so they keep a very close eye on the integrity of the “plastic bottled” hulls.

New York Times…Sunday Style…The Moment.
Doesn’t get much better. An impressive 1.5 million households bought a copy and our servers ran very hot…and in fact the 1000’s of unique visitors continue as I write. No day off round here with the Art Department working all night to check all orders before today’s production cycle kick’s in.
Featured here is favorite of mine, presumably chosen for proximity to NY. Baron Wolman’s “300,000 plus” image of the crowd at Woodstock in 1969. Available as a limited edition, numbered short from Shortomatic.com Gallery.

We will be out in full force at the weekend! I just hope the weather improves. We are also expecting the usual weekend rush on orders, particularly if the threatened coverage appears in the New York Times and Women’s Wear Daily.
Happy 4th and 5th of July one and all!

Ouch!
The latest in Gulf holiday boardshorts.
Our shorts are all about the ability to design and produce quickly and very tactically, this is a great example of some political satire…
The shorts title: “What’s in a name? Broken Promises, Bitter Pill, Biggest Polluter, Brutal Profiteer, Breeched Pump, Beach Plague, Botched Pipe, Bird Petrifier…”

No. This wolf is none other than Matt O’Neill from Chevy Chase Maryland, rocking his new custom britches on Bethany Beach this weekend. Good man. Shortomatic’s East Coast invasion has officially started. We love to hear from satisfied customers the world over!
