The Plastiki crew were met by a welcome flotilla of boats and helicopters as they sailed through Sydney harbour on their way to Sydney’s Australian National Maritime Museum where the arrival ceremony was held in front of a bustling audience of friends, families, press and supporters.

Well the Plastiki sets sail once again, boardies blowing in the wind as they sail out from Christmas Island on their second leg, a 22 day journey to Fiji. They had a wonderful time recharging on this magical island and have since changed three crew members. We will keep an eye on their progress on www.plastiki.com.

Awesome shot! Here’s Nat Geo Max at work aboard The Plastiki some 1100 miles out in the Pacific. The site www.plastiki.com is worth a daily visit, it’s the best reality show currently available. The video, blogging and other random anecdotes are very amusing.

Last Friday, the dream came true for David de Rothschild and his crew with the launch of the Plastiki and a packed Press Conference in Sausalito, San Francisco.
It was little cold to model their Shortomatic.com boardshorts, but the adventure begins and will be covered by a National Geographic documentary where we’ll be able to keep in touch with daily progress.

Well as an update to “Looking After Oceans”, herewith the proposed crew short for the Plastiki voyage from San Francisco to Sydney, via the Great Garbage Patch 1000 miles off the West Coast of USA.
First glance sees a ‘destination’ postcard sinking in the depth’s of the Pacific, but as you look into each letter, the whole nightmare of pollution is revealed, with dead fish, plastic bottles and all manner of waste strewn on the beautiful shores of our planet.
We are an official supplier to the Plastiki voyage, led by David de Rothschild. We will be closely following the progress of this incredible journey…launch date to be confirmed.
